Lane McKenzie
Lane finds a sense of purpose that was first kindled watching his father, an attorney specializing in consumer/debtor defense. Following in his father's footsteps but carving his own path, he currently serves as an attorney at Doucet Co., LPA, where he handles a wide range of civil matters.
His work has already had a profound impact, such as when he helped secure a reduced sentence for a federal criminal defendant—a victory that taught him the tangible difference hard work can make in someone's life. From estate planning and family law to federal criminal defense, Lane brings both independent initiative and collaborative spirit to his roles, skills honed through his legal education at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
Away from legal briefs and courtrooms, Lane revels in the great outdoors, hiking and walking with his fiancée Maddie and their dog Jake. His commitment to community extends beyond human circles, as he loves volunteering at pet shelters. This ethos of giving back is also reflected in a significant fundraising achievement—organizing a dance competition fundraiser that raised $20,000 for a SeriousFun charity during his senior year of undergrad.
When asked what he'd do if given a year off, Lane talks about a dream of touring national parks across the United States, a journey that combines his love for nature and adventure. For him, success isn't just about climbing the professional ladder but finding daily fulfillment and enjoyment in his work and life, a balanced view that makes him not just a devoted legal professional but also a committed community member and family man.
