John Miller is a Law Clerk for Doucet & Associates. John graduated with a B.A. in History and Russian Studies from DePauw University. He received his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Cum Laude. At Indiana, John was an Associate Editor with the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review. John participated, captained, and coached on two moot court teams, for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot. John still coaches McKinney’s Willem C. Vis team. John was also a mentor for international LLM students.
John has experience in a variety of legal settings. John studied international transactional law in Hong Kong through the Duke University School of Law. John was also a trainee at an international business law firm in Tallinn, Estonia, working in the firm’s Dispute Resolution section. In his international experience, John was able to obtain considerable insight into the way people and businesses transact globally and found creative solutions to settle their disputes. Also during law school, John worked as an extern for the In-House Counsel of one of the largest health insurance companies in the nation. This experience allowed John to better understand the goals and issues associated with a large corporation.
Outside of legal work, John enjoys spending time with his friends and loved ones. John is involved in many sports including: marathoning, swimming, basketball, and Australian Rules football. John plays guitar, sings, composes music, and writes literature. John is also an avid reader and lover of classical music and opera.
John is currently licensed to practice law in the state of New York and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. John anticipates taking and passing the Ohio State Bar Exam in July of 2017.
